Paper Saints opens with the warm glow of honey cake beneath a dry wash of desert light. Chamomile softens the sweetness with its delicate hay-like warmth, while sumac, petitgrain, and calamus introduce a bitter, root-bound tension—something sun-worn, herbal, and faintly medicinal beneath the surface.
At the heart, tobacco settles into the texture of aged paper. Acacia and butterfly bush lend a pale, nectarous floral quality, while the strange impression of an envelope seal evokes dust, ink, and correspondence kept long after its sender has disappeared. The effect is intimate and timeworn, like a letter unfolded so often the creases have become permanent.
As the fragrance deepens, amber and sandalwood gather around incense, amyris, and luminous Hojari resin. Soft musk remains close to the skin, while smoke and balsamic woods leave behind the quiet gravity of ritual.
Paper Saints is not conventionally sweet, nor traditionally sacred. It is honey darkened by smoke, devotion preserved in paper, and the lingering scent of something once believed in completely. ds
